History of the Management of Foreign Economic Activity of Enterprises Department

In 1994, the graduate department of “Management of Foreign Economic Activities of Enterprises” was created at KIICA, on the basis of the Department of Management and Production Efficiency, to train specialists in the new specialty “Management of Foreign Economic Activity”. The department was headed by an Aeroflot graduate and an education graduate of Ukraine, candidate of economic sciences, professor Vasyl Vasyliovych Rodchenko.

From January 2, 2002 to December 22, 2016, the department was headed by Valentina Oleksiivna Novak, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor, Honorary Education of Ukraine.

From December 23, 2016 to October 1, 2018, the head of the department was Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Distinguished Education of Ukraine Oksana Viktorivna Ilyenko.

Since November 2018, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Oksana Mykolaivna Kirylenko has been appointed as the head of the department.

The first graduation of specialists in the management of ZED took place in 1996.

During this time, more than 1,800 specialists in the management of foreign economic activities were trained, who work in well-known domestic and foreign airlines, airports, as well as in the State Department of Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, commercial banks, insurance and tourism companies, etc.

Graduates receive fundamental training in the field of management of foreign economic activities of enterprises, as well as specialized training in the organization, planning and management of the activities of organizations, firms, enterprises and their divisions. These specialties are aimed at training specialists with fundamentally new socio-economic thinking, who understand well the problems of organization, planning, control and management of foreign economic activity, are able to deeply, prospectively and systematically find various options for solutions, evaluate them and choose the optimal ones, take responsibility for implementation of these decisions.

Qualification of graduates in specialties:

♦ “Management of foreign economic activity” – economist-manager of foreign economic activity;

♦ “Management of organizations and administration” – manager (manager) for administrative activities.

♦ “Management of airlines and airports” – manager (manager) of airlines and airports.
